Privacy notice
1. Data controller
The controller responsible for processing data on this website is:
Rainer MarkussenHeinrich-Hertz-Str. 74
22085 Hamburg
Germany
2. Provision of the website
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you access the website, IONOS processes technical connection data. This includes the referring URL, the page or file accessed, browser type and version, operating system, device type, time of access and the IP address in anonymised form.
This data is processed to deliver the website, ensure its security and stability, and prevent misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of this website.
According to IONOS, server log data is stored for eight weeks. IONOS states that visitor data is not transferred to third countries outside the European Union.
3. IONOS WebAnalytics and no additional tracking services
IONOS WebAnalytics is enabled by default in IONOS web hosting. Data is collected through log files or pixels and used exclusively for statistical analysis and technical optimisation of the website. IONOS does not use cookies for this purpose; the IP address is anonymised immediately after transmission and processed in that form.
This website uses no additional analytics, marketing or tracking services. No cookies are used for analytics or advertising. No external fonts, maps, videos, social media plugins or comparable third-party content are embedded.
Links to external websites, such as LinkedIn, XING or the AI Use Case Pilot, are accessed only when clicked. The respective operators are responsible for data processing on those external websites.
4. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide, particularly your email address, your name and the content of your message, to handle your enquiry and communicate with you.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract. In other cases, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is handling enquiries and communicating with prospective clients.
Data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully resolved, provided that no statutory retention requirements or legitimate interests require continued storage.
Our email mailbox is operated through Google Workspace. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google processes the content and metadata of your emails on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Cloud Data Processing Addendum). Processing by Google LLC in the United States cannot be ruled out. It is safeguarded by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and Google’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
5. Contact form
When you submit the contact form, the data you enter — your name, email address and message — is transmitted to a Google Apps Script endpoint. This endpoint immediately delivers the information to our mailbox as an email. The submission time and the content of a field hidden from view for spam prevention are also processed.
The purpose of processing is to receive and handle your enquiry and communicate with you. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract. In other cases, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is handling enquiries and preventing automated misuse.
Your name, email address and message are required so that we can handle and respond to your enquiry. Alternatively, you can always contact us directly by email at info@markussen-consulting.net.
Google Apps Script is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google processes the transmitted data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Cloud Data Processing Addendum). Processing by Google LLC in the United States cannot be ruled out. It is safeguarded by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and Google’s certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The endpoint does not create a database of its own. Your information is processed solely to deliver the email and is subsequently stored in our mailbox. It is deleted there once the enquiry has been fully resolved, provided that no statutory retention requirements or legitimate interests require continued storage. To limit automated enquiries, a purely technical counter containing no personal data is maintained for a maximum of one hour; your IP address is not processed for this purpose.
If automatic transmission fails for technical reasons, the form opens the email application on your device instead. In this case, no data is transmitted to Google by the form; the message is sent solely through your own email account.
6. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access your stored personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request erasure or restriction of processing, and receive your data in a portable format. You may object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany, datenschutz-hamburg.de.
7. Date of this privacy notice
Last updated: 2 September 2026. This notice will be revised if the technical provision of the website or the services used change.
